NSW Lotteries is trying to contact the owner of the winning ticket, sold in the Sydney suburb of St Marys that has taken out the entire $1 million first division prize in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

Bankstown

It’s a case of two times lucky for the owner of the $666,666.67 winning Monday Lotto ticket purchased in Bankstown. The winner also won a $100,000 prize 16 years ago.

“Goodness me, that is just fantastic, absolutely brilliant. This is the best phone call I’ve ever had,” the retired winner from Punchbowl said this morning.

“I’ve just celebrated my birthday, I turned 73 and now I’ve won Lotto, it’s fantastic. I’m delighted to have shared the prize with other winners too; it makes it even better to know it gets shared around.

“I’ll wait for a little while before I decide what to do, but I will definitely help my children and upgrade my car,” the winner added.

“I want to tell you a little story; 16 years ago in February 1994 I won $100,000 in the $2 Jackpot Lottery. I had very little at the time so I used the money to buy a second hand car, and I still drive that car today,” the twice lucky winner told a NSW Lotteries official.

“I’ve had some moments that were the worst in my life over the past couple of years; this is definitely the best moment in my life, that’s for sure.

The winner is a retailer in his fifties from the Sutherland Shire area. He said that he and his wife had had a “hard couple of years” due to health problems.

“I’ve had cancer and now I’m recovering, and my wife fell seriously ill as well, and I think it was because of the level of stress she had worrying about me.

“I’d like to buy my dream home up on a cliff on the South Coast, not up too high, just high enough so I don't have to worry about global warming," he joked.

“I really don’t need that much money. I'll just invest it for the interest and enjoy it little bit by little bit,” the winner added.

Lotto wins of $1.5 million at Bangor and Singleton

Two NSW winners shared the $3 million first division prize pool in Lotto last night. The winning entries were purchased in the Sydney suburb of Bangor and the NSW town of Singleton - each winning $1.5 million.

Bangor

The Bangor winner is a maintenance worker in his fifties, who said that he was left “unflustered” by his $1.5 million win.

“I’m just cruising at the moment. I actually watched the draw and saw my numbers come out but I didn’t get flustered. I’m a pretty calm sort of guy and I didn’t get overly excited,” the winner told a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon.

The winner said that he had been buying Lotto entries regularly for the past two years because, as he put it, “you just never know your luck”.

He now plans to buy a house and invest the rest of his winnings.

The winning entry was purchased at Bangor Newsagency, at the corner of Menai and Yala Roads, Bangor.

Singleton

While Singleton’s latest Lotto winner is a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have been unable to contact them by telephone this morning. They may be completely unaware of their good fortune.

The winning ticket was purchased from Singleton Pharmacy at 122-124 John Street, Singleton.

Louise Wordsworth from the pharmacy said that they were “on a roll” of selling big Lotto wins.

“We’re ecstatic. It was only about nine weeks ago that we sold a first division Lotto prize, and we sold another major lottery prize before that.

“We’re on a roll. We’ve sold six division one Lotto prizes over the years,” Ms Wordsworth said.

The winning numbers from Monday Lotto’s $3 million draw were 2, 1, 18, 42, 19 and 25 with the supplementary numbers 36 and 5.

A tradesman from the Central Coast is celebrating after winning $522,729 in Saturday Lotto with a ticket purchased at North Ryde in Sydney.

Calling all Chullora Powerball players – are you the mystery $10 million winner

A single entry purchased in the Sydney suburb of Chullora won $10 million in last night’s Powerball jackpot draw.

As the owner of the winning ticket did not register their lottery purchase with Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting them with the good news so they may be completely unaware of their good fortune.

“As we have no means of contacting Powerball’s $10 million winner, all we can do is put the word out for people in the Chullora area to check their tickets. Obviously with such a big prize at stake we want to get in touch with them as soon as possible,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said.

The winning ticket was purchased from Chullora Marketplace Newsagency at Chullora Marketplace, 355 Waterloo Road, Chullora.

Proprietors of Chullora Marketplace Newsagency Meera Verma and Rajeev Kumar are delighted that their shop sold the ticket that will make someone’s dreams come true.

“I got a call from NSW Lotteries early this morning to tell me we had sold the winning ticket. I couldn’t believe it, this is the best news I’ve had this year,” Mr Kumar said.

“We’ve been running this shop for five years and this is by far the biggest prize we have ever sold, so it’s very exciting.

We are still looking for Lennox Head’s $2 million Saturday Lotto winner

The mystery NSW Lotto player who won $2 million in last Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw has still not come forward to claim their prize.

”We are still waiting for the lucky $2 million winner to come forward. Perhaps they are a local to the Lennox Head area or perhaps they were just passing through. Either way we are anxious to track them down and pay them their prize money,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said.

“We have been putting the word out in the Lennox Head region for people to check tickets and now feel it is time to spread the message more widely. If you have not checked your Saturday Lotto Superdraw ticket, for the draw that took place on 15 May please do so as soon as possible, it could be worth $2 million,” Mr Vineburg added.

The unregistered winning ticket was sold from Lennox Head Newsagency and Liquor Store at Shop 1, 80-84 Ballina Street, Lennox Head.

“We have been simply run off our feet all week checking tickets,” Tania Taylor from Lennox Head Newsagency and Liquor Store said.

“Everyone comes in thinking they are the winner until we run their ticket through the terminal to check it, so far everyone has been very disappointed to find out they are not our $2 million winner. We really hope the winner comes forward to claim their prize very soon,” Ms Taylor added.

Who is holding Lennox Head’s $2 million Lotto ticket?

A mystery NSW Lotto player is $2 million better off after picking up a share in Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw.

The NSW North Coast town of Lennox Head will be buzzing today as locals flock to check their tickets to see if they are holding the $2 million winning ticket.

Lennox Head has only around 7,000 permanent residents, but as the town is a popular, year-round tourist destination, the winner may not be from the area.

The unregistered winning ticket was sold from Lennox Head Newsagency and Liquor Store at Shop 1, 80-84 Ballina Street, Lennox Head.

“This is absolutely fantastic; we are so excited because this is the biggest prize we have ever sold! We’re really hoping that the winner is a regular customer, but we’re happy for them whoever they are,” a delighted Sandy Gordon from Lennox Head Newsagency and Liquor Store said this morning.

“Actually, if the ticket was sold yesterday it could very well be a tourist; we were completely run off our feet all day yesterday, there seemed to be loads of people in town,” Ms Gordon speculated.

“I really do hope that the winner comes forward today, without being a member of Players Club there is a risk that they may not check their ticket for weeks.

“Somebody out there has the golden ticket, just like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, all we have to do is find them.

“We’re all so excited, we will be on tenterhooks all day, every ticket we check could be the one, or the golden ticket,” laughed Ms Gordon.

NSW Lotteries is urging players in the area to check their tickets. “Unfortunately our latest millionaire is not a member of Players Club which means we have no way of contacting them. So if you purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket in the Lennox Head area, it could be well worth your while to check your numbers,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said.

There were ten winners in Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw. Along with the NSW win, six wins were sold by the Victorian-based lottery operator Tattersall’s, two winning entries were sold in Western Australia and one in Queensland.

The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $20 million Lotto draw were 35, 15, 18, 6, 13 and 4 with the supplementary numbers 16 and 8.

Ermington Mum scores $2 million Wednesday Lotto Prize

A call from NSW Lotteries officials this morning alerted an Ermington woman to her multi-millionaire status after winning the entire $2 million division one prize in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

The self-described “beautiful mum of three children” was unaware of her good fortune until a NSW Lotteries official broke the good news to her over the telephone this morning. The winner said that she had been playing Lotto for years and the unexpected news of her $2 million win left her speechless.

“I won two and a half thousand dollars about 11 years ago and used it to buy a dining setting. I’m just speechless at winning $2 million – I get excited if I win $20,” she said.

“I’ll use the money to pay off the mortgage on the house and invest for our old age.”

The winner is also in the market for a “bit of a yacht”.

“We always loved the water and wanted to spend time on the water. I’d love to buy a bit of a yacht – just a small one, so that we could take the family sailing,” she added.

The winning ticket was purchased from NewsXpress Top Ryde City at Top Ryde City, on the corner Blaxland Road and Devlin Street, Ryde.

“We got a call from Lotteries this morning to tell us we’d sold the $2 million winning ticket, we are all so excited. You’d think we’d won the money the way we are carrying on,” laughed NewsXpress Top Ryde City co-proprietor Geoff Hilder.

“We only opened this shop in February, so to get such a big win so soon is incredible. We are determined to tell as many people as possible that we sold a winning Lotto ticket.”

As Ermington’s latest millionaire registered their winning ticket using a Players Club card, NSW Lotteries officials were able to contact the winner this morning. Players can purchase a Players Club membership for a small annual fee. Players Club not only protects player’s prizes but also ensures they can be contacted with news of a big win.

Windsor’s winner will retire with his $1 million Lotto win

“You ripper! Beauty,” exclaimed a Windsor man in his sixties when he found out that he was the sole winner of last night’s $1 million Wednesday Lotto prize.

The winner contacted NSW Lotteries this afternoon after realising he had several missed calls from attempts by NSW Lotteries officials to make contact with him this morning.

The new millionaire knew he had the six winning numbers but was unaware of the amount of money he had won until it was confirmed by a NSW Lotteries official.

“I thought, knowing my luck, it would be $5,000 or something like that, I never thought I would ever be a millionaire, not in this lifetime,” the Windsor truck driver said.

“I was out washing the ute while my wife was checking the numbers. She called out ‘come in, we’ve got six numbers in a row.’ I didn’t believe her so I said, ‘hang on I have to rinse the soap off’.

“When I checked for myself and saw we had the six numbers I thought I better call Lotteries and then saw that they had been trying to call me. I starting shaking and I haven’t stopped since. This is going to take some time to sink in.

“My wife is just leaning on the window ledge staring into space. She’s thinking about how much she can spend,” the winner joked.

“We’ve battled all of our lives; we’ve saved what little we could and always tried to do the right thing. I’ll make this last us, you only get a chance like this once and there is no way I’ll blow it.

“I’ve been wanting to retire and enjoy life a bit. I can’t believe that now I can. I can retire and see a bit of Australia and enjoy it,” the winner added.

The winning ticket was purchased from Windsor Newsagency at 162 George Street, Windsor.

As Windsor’s latest millionaire registered the winning ticket using a Players Club card, NSW Lotteries officials had the winner’s contact details and were attempting to make contact with him this morning.

Players can purchase a Players Club membership for a small annual fee. Players Club not only protects player’s prizes but also ensures they can be contacted with news of a big win.

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s Lotto draw were 23, 27, 37, 41, 2 and 21 with the supplementary numbers 4 and 30.

Windsor Lotto player becomes a millionaire

One NSW winner took out the entire $1 million division one prize in last night’s Lotto draw with an entry purchased in the Sydney suburb of Windsor.

Although the winning Players Club member was unable to be contacted by telephone this morning, NSW Lotteries officials will continue to try to make contact with the winner and will also mail a letter informing them of their new millionaire status.

“It is always preferable to speak with the winner personally the morning after the draw to ensure they are aware of their win and of course to advise them of the prize claim process,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager, John Vineburg said today.

The winning ticket was purchased from Windsor Newsagency at 162 George Street, Windsor.

“It was just my boss and me in the shop early this morning when one of the other local newsagents called to congratulate us on selling the winning ticket. We hadn’t even seen the message from NSW Lotteries at that stage so we were just flabbergasted by the news,” Jennifer Raftl from Windsor Newsagency said.

“We are really happy that one of our customers has won Lotto. I hope they have some fun with their winnings but spend it wisely and put some away for a rainy day,” Ms Raftl added.

Canberra winner scored $2 million Lotto win on Easter Monday

The Easter weekend ended on a high note for a Canberra Lotto player who scored the entire $2 million division one prize in Monday Lotto’s draw.

Although the owner of the winning ticket is a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials were unable to contact the winner by phone this morning. A message has been left for the winner and a letter will be mailed to their registered address.

“Although our attempts to contact the winner this morning would suggest that they may be unaware of their $2 million win, we will continue to make every effort possible to speak with them today,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager, John Vineburg, said today.

The winning entry purchased from the Four Leaf Clover Kiosk at Shop CL27, The Canberra Centre, 148 Bunda Street, Canberra.

Agent, Kei Liu said that although they are no strangers to selling big prizes, staff at the Kiosk continue to get a thrill from selling winning tickets.

“This is the biggest win we have sold in about three years, so it is extra exciting for us. It’s hard to believe that a little piece of paper printed from the terminal ended up being worth $2 million to someone,” Mr Liu said.

“We’re looking forward to selling even more winning tickets to our customers.

“Our customers always ask for the winning ticket when they are buying their tickets, now one of them really has the winning ticket,” Mr Liu laughed.

The winning numbers from Monday night’s $2 million Lotto draw were 24, 17, 43, 40, 9 and 20 with the supplementary numbers 32 and 42.

‘Instant retirement’ for Canberra’s $2 million Lotto winners

Two Canberra women have just taken early retirement after jointly claiming the $2 million division one prize from Monday night’s Lotto draw.

The former office administration co-workers have played with the same numbers for over 15 years.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you, I’ll retire tomorrow,” one of the winners, a 61-year-old mother of two told a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon.

“I’m euphoric. I’m shaking inside because I’m absolutely ecstatic.

“I’m sharing the prize with my friend. We worked together in an office many years ago, and we bought a regular Lotto entry together. After she left to go to another job we stayed in touch and we kept up our Lotto entry with the same numbers. I’m so glad we never changed our numbers,” she said.

The other winner is a 54-year-old grandmother of seven, who is also planning to retire.

“I’m now a retired 54-year-old grandmother,” she joked.

“I’m very excited and shocked, but I’ve got no idea right now how I’ll spend a million dollars.

“There are lots and lots of things that we’ve dreamt of; I’ll have to go out with my husband and look at a lot of boats and holidays. It also means that we’ll be able to give some money to our children and grandchildren.

“I’m happy to be sharing it with my friend. We worked together for a long time and have remained friends ever since. We’ll get together with our husbands over dinner and crack a bottle of champagne to celebrate sharing $2 million,” she said.

The winning entry purchased from the Four Leaf Clover Kiosk at Shop CL27, The Canberra Centre, 148 Bunda Street, Canberra.

Sydney and Castle Hill winners score half a million dollars each in Saturday Lotto

Saturday Lotto’s $4 million division one prize was shared among eight winning entries nationally, including two winning entries in NSW. The NSW winning entries were sold in Sydney and the Sydney suburb of Castle Hill.

Castle Hill

A three member syndicate of family and friends were over-whelmed this morning with the news of their $500,000 Saturday Lotto win.

A NSW Lotteries official spoke with the syndicate leader, a Castle Hill man in his sixties.

“I’m still in a bit of shock; I checked our numbers on the internet this morning and then called the other two members to tell them. We are all just over the moon; it is very, very unexpected.

“We’ve been playing together as a syndicate for more than three years, hoping to have a bit of a windfall. This money will mean so much to each of us, in its own way it will substantially help each of us out,” the syndicate leader said.

When asked how he will spend his share of the $500,000 the syndicate leader said “I’ll pay some bills and keep the rest for a nice retirement for my wife and me.

The winning entry was purchased from Castle Mall Newsagency at Shop 122 Castle Mall, Terminus Street, Castle Hill.

Judy Tonna, proprietor of Castle Mall Newsagency said that finding out they had sold a winning ticket in Saturday Lotto came as a pleasant surprise.

“It is only six months since we sold a $3 million winning Lotto ticket, so we weren’t expecting to have another division one win so soon. It really is great for us and great for our customers,” Ms Tonna said.

Sydney

The owner of the $500,000 winning Saturday Lotto entry was unable to be contacted by telephone today. A letter informing the winner of their Lotto windfall will be mailed.

Willoughby and Sydney CBD Lotto players score $1 million each

Last night’s Wednesday Lotto $3 million jackpot prize was shared between three winners. Two lucky NSW Lotto players scored $1 million each.

One of the winners was a NSW Lotteries Players Club member who purchased his winning ticket in the Sydney suburb of Willoughby. He said he was “very very happy” this morning when a NSW Lotteries official called him to explain that he is the owner of a $1 million winning ticket.

The second NSW winning entry belongs to an unregistered entry purchased in Sydney’s CBD.

Willoughby

“Oh my God, I can’t believe this is happening. If you were not on the phone I would kiss you. I can’t believe it,” were the first words spoken by the winner, a man in his mid-forties, when a NSW Lotteries official told him he is now a millionaire.

“I checked my numbers this morning but only very quickly so I knew I had won a prize but thought that maybe it would be $500 or something like that. I really can’t believe I’m a millionaire.

“I am a very very happy man this morning. I’ve only ever won small prizes, like $20 or $50 over the years; I never thought I would win $1 million, though I have dreamed about it a lot.

“This will change my life. Now I can buy a house. I’ve rented all of my life so the first thing I will do with my money is buy a home for my family,” the winner said.

The winner, a man from Ryde, purchased his winning Wednesday Lotto ticket from High Street Newsagency at Shop 6, 201 High Street, Willoughby.

Mark Sleeman, proprietor of High Street Newsagency said, “I’m delighted for the winner, and of course am very happy that I sold a ticket worth $1 million from my shop.”

Sydney CBD

The owner of the $1 million winning entry purchased in Sydney’s CBD is not a member of Players Club so NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting them. “It is very possible that they may not even know they have won,” NSW Lotteries Marketing Director Mark Carter said.

“This again shows why being a member of Players Club is so important,” Mr Carter added.

The winning ticket was purchased from the NSW Lotteries Pitt Street Store at 198 – 204 Pitt Street, Sydney.

Three winners shared Saturday Lotto’s $4 million division one prize, with one lucky NSW winner scoring $1.3 million with an entry purchased in Campbelltown.

The NSW winner picked up a $1,333,333.34 share in the division one prize with an additional $32.10 in divisional prizes. However, as the owner of the winning ticket is not a member of Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the winner with the good news.

“So far the winning ticket has not been presented, so we can assume that the winner is quite possibly unaware of their good fortune,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager, John Vineburg said today.

“I strongly advise anyone who purchased their Saturday Lotto ticket in the Campbelltown area and more importantly from Macarthur Square Newsagency to check their tickets as a matter of priority,” Mr Vineburg added.

The winning entry was purchased from Macarthur Square Newsagency at Shop L35B, Macarthur Square, Gilchrist Drive, Campbelltown.

“I was very pleasantly surprised to find out we had sold a first division prize in Lotto. I took over this shop about six months ago, so selling a $1.3 million prize to someone in the area is really exciting news,” Lawrence Li from Macarthur Square Newsagency said.

“It’s a lot of money to win, maybe the winner will pay off their house or even buy a house and still have some left over, whatever they do I hope they claim their prize very soon and that they will be very happy,” Mr Li added.

Along with the winning entry purchased in Campbelltown, one winning entry was purchased in Queensland and one from Victoria.

“We hope the winner checks their messages very soon and contacts us, there will be a very pleasant surprise in store for them when they do,” Mr Vineburg said this morning.

“We will continue to try to make contact with the winner by telephone and a letter including the prize claim paperwork will be posted to them today,” Mr Vineburg added.

“It feels wonderful to have sold a winner to one of our customers,” Jane Verbunt from North Albury Newsagency said today.

“We’ve been looking forward to having a big win come our way this will cause lots of excitement.

“Lots of people are interested in when our last big prize was, so it’s nice to have another one to talk about, it’s especially nice to have a big win for the Albury area,” Mrs Verbunt added.

The winning numbers from Monday’s Lotto draw were 35, 8, 13, 39, 25 and 44 with the supplementary numbers 2 and 19.

Blacktown Lotto player scores $333,333

NSW Lotteries officials are attempting to make telephone contact with the Players Club member who scored a $333,333 share in Monday Lotto’s $1 million division one prize.

“So far this morning we have not been able to get in contact with the winner by telephone, but we will keep trying. We will also be sending the winner a letter in the mail,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said today.

The winning entry was purchased from AK Newstalk at Shop 1004, Westpoint Marketown, Blacktown.

“We were all so happy this morning when we found out we had sold a Lotto winner, we were jumping up and down and shouting with excitement,” Jane Schembri from AK Newstalk said this morning.

“It’s great news for the shop and of course for the lucky winner. I really hope this changes someone’s life for the better,” Ms Schembri added.

Along with the NSW winning entries, winning entries were also sold in Western Australia and Victoria.

The winning numbers from Monday’s Lotto draw were 13, 10, 26, 34, 2 and 14 with the supplementary numbers 19 and 44.

Haymarket and Lidcombe Lotto players score $333,333 each

Three winners shared Wednesday Lotto’s $1 million prize with two of the winning entries being sold in NSW. Lotto players who purchased their entries in Sydney’s Haymarket and in the Sydney suburb of Lidcombe have each won $333,333.

Haymarket

Even though the owner of the winning ticket, purchased in Sydney’s Haymarket, is a member of Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have been unable to contact the winner by telephone this morning. A letter informing them of their windfall will be mailed.

The winning entry was sold from Market City Newsagency at 9-13 Hay Street, Haymarket.

Staff at Market City Newsagency were delighted to find out that they sold a first division Lotto win to one of their customers.

Lidcombe

As the owner of the winning ticket, purchased in Lidcombe, is not a member of Players Club NSW Lotteries officials have no means of contacting them.

The winning ticket was purchased from North Lidcombe Newsagency at 7 John Street, Lidcombe.

“Excellent, we have been waiting for good news like this for our customers,” Daphne Tang, proprietor of North Lidcombe Newsagency said today.

“Seeing as the owner of the ticket is not registered, I’ll be advising everyone to bring their tickets in for checking so that we can find the lucky winner and they can claim their money,” Ms Tang added.

Along with the NSW winning entries, a winning entry was also sold in Victoria.

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s Lotto draw were 11, 17, 20, 45, 24 and 25 with the supplementary numbers 33 and 41.

Mystery Sydney OZ Lotto winner scores $30 million

Someone who bought their OZ Lotto entry in Sydney’s Inner-West has picked up $30 million in last night’s draw.

NSW Lotteries officials are withholding the exact location to give the unregistered player a chance to check their entry away from the glare of publicity.

“This entry was not purchased using a NSW Lotteries Players Club card, so we have no details about the winner, and it is likely that they are also unaware of their good fortune,” NSW Lotteries Communication Manager, John Vineburg said today.

“NSW Lotteries is calling on anyone who purchased a ticket in last night’s OZ Lotto draw to check their entry. If they think they have a winning ticket they should bring it immediately to NSW Lotteries head office at 2 Figtree Drive, Sydney Olympic Park or contact NSW Lotteries on 1300 363 444.

Mr Vineburg said that NSW Lotteries was hoping to emulate the success of its campaign in July last year to contact the record $40 million Powerball winner who purchased their entry at Penrith.

“Ironically, that woman heard on the radio that NSW Lotteries was looking for a winner from the Western Suburbs, but disagreed with her husband about whether that was where they lived. Fortunately, she still checked her entry and successfully claimed the prize,” Mr Vineburg said.

Last night’s OZ Lotto win equals the second biggest lottery prize ever won in NSW, a $30 million Powerball prize won at Yamba in December 2003.

Today is the last day of NSW Lotteries operating as a NSW Government entity.

“It is estimated that NSW Lotteries has paid out more than $13 billion in prizes over close to 80 years. The $30 million OZ Lotto prize adds another big win to the tally,” Mr Vineburg said.

The winning numbers in OZ Lotto’s $30 million draw are 40, 39, 28, 29, 25, 2 and 35 with the supplementaries 31 and 14.

Six NSW winners pick up $1 million each – among 20 winners nationally sharing $20 million Lotto draw

Six lucky NSW winners have each won $1 million in last night’s $20 million Lotto Superdraw.

Winners include: a syndicate of 12 Sydney office workers who purchased their entry at Mascot Airport; a Penrith grandmother who has been playing Lotto since the first draw in 1979; a Maitland truckie, who purchased his ticket when passing through Tenterfield; and a Sydney woman who was “very, very, very happy” with her winning entry, purchased at Newington .

Two other entries were sold at Pyrmont and Gymea to players who did not use a Players Club Card. As the prizes remain unclaimed, the mystery winners may well be unaware of their good fortune.

Pyrmont

A ticket purchased in Pyrmont by a mystery Lotto player has won $1 million. As NSW Lotteries officials do not have any means to contact the lucky winner, they may be completely unaware of their good fortune.

The winning ticket was purchased from Central Pyrmont Newsagency at 160 Harris Street, Pyrmont.

“This is the first time we’ve made someone a millionaire. I hope the winner checks their ticket soon. I’ll be making sure all of my customers bring their tickets in for checking, hopefully it won’t be too long before we find our millionaire,” Rajie Verma from Central Pyrmont Newsagency said today.

Gymea

Gymea’s mystery millionaire purchased their winning Saturday Lotto Superdraw ticket from The Shire Newsagency at 99 Gymea Bay Road, Gymea.

“We’re really excited to have sold such a big prize to one of our customers,” Alan Ghalaini from The Shire Newsagency said today.

“Seeing as the winner did not register their ticket with Players Club they may not even know they have won yet. They’ll get a very nice surprise when they do eventually check their ticket,” Mr Ghalaini added.

Tenterfield

The winner is a Maitland truckie who was passing through Tenterfield when he realised he had forgotten to place his regular Lotto purchase. Fortunately he made it though the door yesterday in time to score his million dollar win.

The father of two in his forties said that he was “devastated but happy” at the news.

“This is just such a fantastic surprise. I recently lost everything I worked my whole life for, and now I can pick myself up from the slumps and get my life back on track,” he said.

“It’s just hope that has kept me playing Lotto. It was the dream that one day I’ll get the freedom to do what I wanted. Now I can buy a house and get the car I always wanted, but couldn’t buy.”

The winning ticket was purchased from Sullivans Newsagency at 232 Rouse Street, Tenterfield.

Newington

A Sydney woman wanted to remain tight lipped about her win with an entry she purchased at Newington Newsagency at Shop 1, Newington Marketplace, Newington.

“You can just say I’m very happy, in fact I’m very, very, very happy,” she told NSW Lotteries official this morning.

The staff at Newington Newsagency are so excited to have sold a ticket worth $1 million that they have been talking about it all day.

“I saw the message about the win on the selling terminal first thing this morning and it’s all we have been talking about since. It is such wonderful news, it’s all we can think about, so I can only imagine how the winner must be feeling if we are this excited about selling the winning ticket,” Jim Choe from Newington Newsagency said today.

Penrith

Persistence has finally paid off for a Sydney woman in her eighties who has played lotteries all her life, including entering every Lotto draw since the first draw in 1979.

“I can’t express my feelings, I’ve got such a shock after finally winning after so long, I’m happy but I’m crying at the same time,” the grandmother of two said this morning.

“You get pipe dreams and think maybe you’ll win enough to get something you’ve always wanted, but you never believe that that it will ever happen to you, it always happens to someone else.

“I can’t think right now about how I’ll spend it. It won’t be wasted, my family will definitely benefit from it,” she said.

The winning $1 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw entry was purchased from Supanews Penrith at shop 27, Westfield Shoppingtown, Penrith.

“This is one of the biggest wins we have sold; it feels really good to know that a ticket we sold has made someone a millionaire. Congratulations to the winner, I really hope that they will be very happy,” Satish Prasad from the Supanews Penrith said today.

Mascot

A syndicate of 12 Sydney office workers will be celebrating today after sharing a $1 million first division prize in last night’s Lotto draw.

The syndicate leader, a Western Sydney woman in her forties, said that her work colleagues would be delighted to hear about their windfall.

“Oh, my goodness, this is fantastic, my work colleagues will be ecstatic,” she said when she heard the news this morning.

“We only put an entry in spasmodically. I’m always saying ‘let’s do it’ when there’s a big one in Lotto.

“For this draw, I asked everyone to pick their favourite numbers. I think it’s great that 20 people shared the $20 million, and that we’ve shared it again amongst ourselves.

“My heart is racing. I’ll probably use my share to buy a new car, but first I’ll ring around this morning and let everyone know the good news.”

The winning entry was sold from the Australia Post Shop at Shop 22, Gate 7, Qantas Domestic Terminal, Mascot.

“I’m really happy, especially for the lucky winners. This is the biggest win we’ve sold from this shop, so we couldn’t be happier about it,” Frances Ho from Australia Post Shop said today.

The winning numbers for last night’s draw were: 9, 13, 16, 23, 27 and 33, with supplementaries 21 and 42.

The six NSW winners were among 20 nationally, with six winning entries sold by the Victorian based lottery operator Tattersall’s, six in Queensland, and one each in Western Australia and South Australia.

Valentine’s Day Lotto win will pay for dream wedding

A 30-year-old Western Sydney woman is planning to pay for her dream wedding with some of the $1.8 million prize money she won in the Valentine’s Day Superdraw in February.

The winner had no idea that she had been carrying the winning ticket in her handbag for over five weeks until she checked her ticket yesterday afternoon.

“I’ve been working overtime to pay for my wedding, which will be later in the year. Normally I check my tickets regularly but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance,” the delighted winner told NSW Lotteries officials today.

“I opened up my wallet last week and the ticket fell out and I thought I’d better get it checked. I took it into the agency yesterday afternoon and the terminal locked up and they put me onto NSW Lotteries over the phone.

“They said, ‘do you know that you’ve won a prize and how much it is’. When they told me that I’d won $1.8 million I felt sick in the stomach. I still can’t believe it; I woke up this morning thinking did that really happen,” the winner said.

Despite her windfall the new millionaire will stick to her existing wedding plans.

“I want to keep the wedding just as it is – low key. I don’t want anything too extravagant. The difference now is I won’t have to worry about where the money is coming from and I won’t have to work so hard.

“We will have a nice honeymoon, and now we can build the house that we couldn’t afford before,” she said.

The winning 36-game entry in the $20 million Lotto Valentine’s Day Superdraw was sold by NewsXpress Wetherill Park at Shop 86, Stockland Town Centre, Polding Street, Wetherill Park.

Meadowbank Saturday Lotto winner is yet to find out about $800,000 prize

A Saturday Lotto entry sold in the Sydney suburb of Meadowbank has scored its owner $800,000.

Although the lucky winner is a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, officials have been unable to contact the winner by telephone. A letter informing them of their windfall will be mailed.

The winning entry was purchased from Newsflash Village Plaza at Shop 6, 11 The Village Plaza, Bay Drive, Meadowbank.

“When I got the message to say we sold a winner on Sunday morning I yelled, ‘We’ve done it, we’ve got a Lotto win,’ I was just so excited,” Bhagwat Chauhan, owner of Newsflash Village Plaza said this morning.

“This shop has only been open just over a year so imagine our delight at selling a ticket worth $800,000 to one of our customers.

“Customers have been coming in saying, ‘Check my ticket, I hope I’ve got the winning one,’ but we have yet to find that lucky winner.

“When the winner does find out, I hope they’ll be overjoyed,” Mr Chauhan.

Five winning entries shared Saturday Lotto’s $4 million division one prize. Along with the NSW winning entry, three winning entries were sold in Queensland and one from the Victorian based lottery operator Tattersall’s.

The winning numbers from Saturday’s Lotto draw were 26, 40, 10, 12, 15 and 29, with the supplementary numbers 39 and 3.

Lotto ticket purchased in Rockdale scores its mystery owner $1 million

Wednesday Lotto’s $1 million division one prize was won by a single entry purchased in the Sydney suburb of Rockdale and the mystery owner of the winning ticket may not even know that they are now a millionaire.

As the winner is not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the lucky person to inform them of the good news.

“The winning ticket has not been presented for verification so far this morning. We are advising Lotto players in the Rockdale area to check their tickets very carefully as there will be a nice surprise in store for the holder of the winning ticket,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager, John Vineburg said.

“Once the winner is identified they can start the prize claim process so that they receive the $1 million tax-free winnings,” Mr Vineburg added.

The winning entry was purchased from Rockdale Plaza Newsagency, Shop 44, Rockdale Plaza, Rockdale.

“I’m very pleased that we have sold another Lotto prize. March seems to be a lucky month for us, this time last year we sold a $1 million Lotto prize as well,” Tom Mackovski from Rockdale Plaza Newsagency said this morning.

The winning numbers from Wednesday night’s $1 million Lotto draw were 10, 21, 24, 14, 16 and 32, with the supplementary numbers 6 and 5.

Lotto ‘hoax’ call scores Singleton man $1 million

A Singleton man took some convincing that the call from NSW Lotteries about a $1 million win in last night’s Lotto draw was genuine.

“I’ll give you a call back after I check the numbers myself,” he told the official who broke the good news by telephone this morning.

The father-of-two in his forties was finally persuaded that he really was a millionaire after seeing a sign about the win at his local Lotto agency, Singleton Pharmacy at 122 John Street, Singleton.

“I walked up to the chemist and there was a sign out the front saying that they had sold a million dollar prize in Lotto. I checked my numbers and they matched.

“I still can’t believe it, though; my heart is pounding a hundred miles an hour. I’ve got to admit, if this is a joke it is really well done,” the winner said.

The lucky winner plans to pay off the mortgage on the family home and take the family on a holiday in Europe.

When asked where he planned to go in Europe, the winner replied, “Mate, after winning this, everywhere”.

“We are just so excited about the win, words can’t describe it,” Louise Wordsworth from Singleton Pharmacy said.

“There is a great buzz in the shop today. A $1 million win is a lot of money and knowing that it has gone to one of our customers is very satisfying,” Ms Wordsworth added.

The winning numbers from Monday’s Lotto draw were 13, 17, 1, 18, 9 and 6, with the supplementary numbers 41 and 42.

$2 Jackpot Lottery won at $9.41 million at Caringbah

Listed - 04/03/2010 10:22am

NSW Lotteries continues to make millionaires with a huge $9.41 million win in the $2 Jackpot Lottery draw this morning.

The jackpot prize went to a registered winner who purchased their ticket in the Sydney suburb of Caringbah.

The winner has requested total anonymity.

The jackpot prize has been climbing since it was last won on 6 October last year at $16.32 million.

The winning entry – number 152552 in draw 9446 – was sold by Port Hacking Newsagency at 501A, Port Hacking Road, Caringbah.

Jeff Cindric, owner of Port Hacking Newsagency said that he was absolutely ecstatic when he found out that the $9.41 million prize was sold from his shop.

“In four years we have never sold a prize over $1 million, and now we’ve sold a prize of over $9 million; it is a strange but wonderful feeling,” Mr Cindric said.

“The majority of our customers are locals or tradesmen working in the area. My customers really are a great bunch of people, they all work hard for a living. My instinct tells me that the winner is a deserving one.

“I’ll celebrate this news with a beer tonight and toast good luck to the winner with their new fortune. Everyone will be speculating about who the lucky winner is; seeing as the winner already knows who they are, they can sit back and smile knowing that its them,” Mr Cindric added.

Sydney $30 million OZ Lotto win still unclaimed

The owner of the $30 million OZ Lotto ticket sold in Sydney’s Inner-West has still not claimed their prize (as at 11.00am).

“The media attention this win has received in the last 24 hours should have alerted the winner to check their entry,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said today.

“We are urging anyone with a ticket in the $30 million OZ Lotto draw on Tuesday 30 March to check their entry against the winning numbers.

“The ideal scenario would be for the winner to check his or her numbers online at www.nswlotteries.com.au and bring the winning ticket directly to the NSW Lotteries head office at 2 Figtree Drive, Sydney Olympic Park or contact NSW Lotteries on 1300 363 444.

“Our main priority is to ensure that anyone holding a potentially winning ticket does not lose it or throw it away. As the entry is unregistered, the ticket will be required to claim the prize,” Mr Vineburg said.

Sydney OZ Lotto winner claims $30 million

A middle-aged couple from Ashfield in Sydney’s Inner-West have joined the ranks of the super rich after claiming the $30 million prize they won in Tuesday’s OZ Lotto draw.

The couple heard on a radio news bulletin while sitting in a café that the prize had been sold in the Inner-West, prompting them to check the ticket.

The husband, aged in his fifties, said that he never thought he would have a big win. “I’m the sort of fella that says ‘put your name in the hat and see what happens’. I’m not really worried about winning so much money, I just hope I’ll stay as I am and I’ll be just as happy as I am now,” he said today.

The wife, a mother of two in her forties, said that when she heard on the radio that NSW Lotteries were looking for a winner in Sydney’s Inner West she told her husband that he should go and check the ticket. “He went to the local agent; then he rang on the mobile and told me to get over there right away. Then he told me we’d won $30 million.

“I’m so shocked I can’t get my head wrapped around it. It’s more money than I’ve ever seen in my life - and that’s an understatement.

“We’ve been drowning in debt. We both work casual and part-time, and just recently our hours have been cut, so the bills have been piling up.

“I’m the sort of person who goes into the supermarket and won’t buy bananas at $1.99 until they’ve gone down to $1.49. None of that matters anymore,” she said.

The couple plan to take a long anticipated cruise and upgrade from renting to buying their own home.

The winning ticket was a four-game autopick entry worth just $4.30 purchased from Ashfield Newsagency at 25 Hercules Street, Ashfield. Owner, Michael Walker, was thrilled to find out that the winning $30 million OZ Lotto ticket had been sold from his shop.

“It is certainly the biggest prize we have ever sold from here, until now it was a $1.4 million Lotto win, so we have blown our old record out of the water,” Mr Walker said.

Tears of joy for $5 million Sydney Lotto win

Listed - 24/02/2010 11:20am

A Sydney man has greeted news of a $5 million win in last night’s Lotto draw with tears of joy. The technician from Strathfield in Sydney’s inner west will share the prize five ways with a syndicate of work colleagues.

“I don’t know what to say. I’m crying now but I’m very, very happy,” the 49-year-old father of two told a NSW Lotteries official who broke the good news this morning.

“I’m sharing this with four other guys at work. I was just telling them the other day that I had been playing Lotto for more than 20 years and I was due for a win – now we’re all millionaires.

“I really need the money because I’ve been struggling to pay off a big loan for the last year. In fact, I called a tradesman yesterday to cancel some work on the house because we couldn’t afford it, now I’m going to call him back and tell him to go ahead,” he said.

The winner said that he had been looking forward to a change in luck since a fortune teller had forecast in October last year that 2010 would be “a good year” for him.

He will use his $1 million share of the windfall to pay off debt and complete renovations on the family home before deciding what to do with the rest of the money.

The winning entry was sold by Strathfield Plaza Newsagency, where owner Ramesh Sethurao was delighted to have sold another big win.

“This is really exciting news for us, in fact since we have taken over the shop this is our third major win,” Mr Sethurao said.

“It’s great to hear that the win has come to Strathfield. I have many regular customers and it always feels good to find out one of them has had a big win.”

The winning numbers from Monday night’s $5 million Lotto draw were 5, 21, 27, 39, 6 and 34 with the supplementary numbers 26 and 36.

Hill Top man says $1 million Saturday Lotto win means he can fulfil his dreams

Listed - 22/02/2010 16:30pm

Hill Top’s mystery millionaire came forward this afternoon to claim his $1 million Saturday Lotto win.

“I was watching the Winter Olympic Games this morning when mum called to tell me she had heard on the radio that a local person who bought a ticket from Village Store Cellars had won $1 million. That’s where I buy my tickets so I went there straight away to check,” the winner in his late twenties told a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon.

“When I got there I thought it was already claimed, so when they told me I’d won I just went light-headed and felt all tingly, it was just complete shock.

“Dad saw my vehicle parked outside the shop so he came in to find me, I shook his hand and said ‘Dad, you’re shaking hands with a millionaire’. I called mum and joked with her saying it wasn’t me, then she wouldn’t believe me when I told her that I was in fact the Hill Top mystery winner she heard about on the radio,” the tradesman added.

The winner said that the would bring welcome relief to his family, who had been plagued with health issues over recent years, “It’s just a complete turn around in our luck.

“I called my sister as soon as I got home, even though she is in school today, I just had to tell her. I’ll put her through college now. I want her to be really happy with what she decides to do in life,” he said.

When asked how he intends to spend his winnings, the winner replied, “I’ll take some time to think about it, I want to be smart about this. I’ll invest it to make my future more comfortable. I’ve always been interested in real estate.

“I’ve always wanted to work for myself, own my own home and enjoy my life. I couldn’t live that dream yesterday but today I can,” the winner added.

First on this millionaire’s shopping list is a family celebration and then a holiday to think about his future.

The winner came to NSW Lotteries head office to complete a claim for his quarter share in Saturday Lotto’s $4 million prize. The Hill Top local can now relax for two weeks while he waits for his tax-free payment.

A mystery Saturday Lotto player who purchased their ticket in the Southern Highlands town of Hill Top can claim the title of Lotto’s latest millionaire after picking up a quarter share of Saturday Lotto’s $4 million prize.

As the winner is not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the lucky person to inform them of the good news. They may be completely unaware that they are now a millionaire thanks to Lotto.

NSW Lotteries officials are advising Saturday Lotto players who purchased their tickets from Village Store Cellars at 11 West Parade, Hill Top.

“Sundays are always busy all day with people checking tickets while buying papers so I’m surprised we haven’t found our winner yet,” Paul Purdon, proprietor of Village Store Cellars said this morning.

“A $1 million win is very significant for us, especially if the winner is a local, in the long run the whole community benefits.

“Kaylene and I will be encouraging everyone to bring their tickets in for checking, the sooner we find this winner the better,” Mr Purdon added.

Along with the winning entry purchased in Hill Top, one winning entry was sold each in Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.

Listed - 17/02/2010 9:30am

A first division OZ Lotto prize of $2 million has been won in Wagga Wagga.

NSW Lotteries officials were unable to contact the lucky winner by telephone this morning so the Players Club member will be sent a claim form by mail.

The huge win comes on top of a lucky streak for Marketplace Newsagency in Wagga Wagga Marketplace.

“Wow, this is good news, it’s pretty exciting, especially after we sold the first prize in the $2 Jackpot Lottery only yesterday,” said owner Dean Sutherland.

“We’ve done really well in the past few months, we also had another $100,000 win in the $2 Jackpot Lottery late last year and we also sold a $5,000 prize in the lottery.

“We’re happy for the winner and glad that we’re bringing some money to Wagga,” Mr Sutherland said.

The winning numbers in last night’s $2 million OZ Lotto draw were 21, 44, 26, 20, 19, 37 and 1 with the supplementaries 39 and 4.

Happy Valentine’s Day, you’re a millionaire - $1.8 million Lotto win at Wetherill Park

Listed - 14/02/2010 12:15pm

A mystery Sydney Lotto player is $1.8 million better off after picking up a share in Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Valentine’s Day Superdraw.

The unregistered winning ticket was sold from NewsXpress Wetherill Park at Shop 86, Stockland Town Centre, Polding Street, Wetherill Park.

“We are so excited, this is our first division one win in four years, by our reaction here in the shop anyone would think we’ve just won the $1.8 million,” a delighted Antonella Di Franco from NewsXpress Wetherill Park said this morning.

“Sunday morning’s are usually quite busy, but once word gets out that we’ve sold a division one win in Saturday Lotto’s Superdraw there will be queues of people eager to check their tickets.

“I really hope that the winner comes forward today, without being a member of Players Club there is a risk that the winner may not check their tickets regularly, so fingers crossed they come in with the ticket today. I’d love to say ‘Happy Valentine’s Day, you’re a millionaire’, imagine the reaction that would get.

“I don’t know how the winner will celebrate when they find out, but I will definitely celebrate with a glass of champagne tonight,” Ms Di Franco added.

NSW Lotteries is urging players in the area to check their tickets.

“Unfortunately our Valentine’s Day millionaire is not a member of Players Club which means we have no way of contacting them. So if you purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket in the Wetherill Park area, or perhaps got a ticket in your Valentine’s card this morning, it could be worth your while checking your numbers,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said.

There were eleven winners in Saturday Lotto’s $20 million Valentine’s Day Superdraw. Along with the NSW win, one win was sold by the Victorian-based lottery operator Tattersall’s, four winning entries were sold in Western Australia and five in Queensland.

The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $20 million Lotto draw were 14, 34, 1, 45, 7 and 41, with the supplementary numbers 21 and 15.

Sydney financial crisis victim loses house but wins $17 million in Powerball prize money

Listed - 12/02/2010 11:50am

A Western Sydney man forced to sell his house after losing his job in the global financial crisis is now on top of the world after winning $17 million in Powerball prize money in last night’s draw.

His Power45 entry, costing $57.30, won him both the first division prize of $16,184,602.27 and an additional $983,650.80 in second division prizes, for a total of $17,168,253.07.

The winner told a NSW Lotteries official this morning that mounting debts after losing his job in the computer industry had forced him to sell his house late last year.

“I checked the numbers on my computer last night and thought I might have won $16 million but I wasn’t sure if I was daydreaming or I’d just lost my mind.

“I’m unemployed and I had to sell my house a few months ago after I lost my job, so the first thing I’ll do is buy a new house.

“It will take me a long time to settle in with the idea of winning $17 million but the future is rosy. I’ve been studying and now I’m looking forward to starting my own business with my winnings.”

The winner purchased their ticket at Carnes Hill Marketplace Newsagency, at Hoxton Park.

Unbelievably the same agency sold another big Powerball win of $15.63 million on 15 October last year.

Co-owner Natalie Nguyen from Carnes Hill Newsagency said she was “speechless” at their success in selling big prizes.

“What are the chances? We’re so lucky here we can’t believe it, I feel like I’ve won it myself.”

A Power45 entry allows players to increase their chances of winning by selecting all 45 Powerballs. As all 45 Powerballs are covered, you only have to match a minimum of two numbers from the five drawn from the first barrel to win a prize.

The winning numbers in last night’s Powerball draw were 2, 11, 21, 32, and 40, with Powerball number 22.

Mystery wins at Coffs Harbour and Hurstville score $444,444 each

Listed - 08/02/2010 14:00pm

Saturday Lotto’s $4 million division one prize was shared by nine winning entries nationally, including two NSW winning entries worth $444,444.45 each.

The NSW winning entries were sold in the mid-north coastal city of Coffs Harbour and the Sydney suburb of Hurstville.

Both NSW winning entries were not purchased using a NSW Lotteries Players Club card, and so NSW Lotteries officials do not have the contact details for the winners. They may be completely unaware of their lucky windfall.

Coffs Harbour

A mystery Lotto player who purchased their Saturday Lotto entry from The Palms Newsagency at Shop 22, The Palms Centre, High Street, Coffs Harbour won $444,444.45.

The Palms Newsagency proprietor, Ross McMaster, is keen to make sure as many people as possible in NSW hear that his shop sold a first division win in Saturday Lotto.

“We have a strong local customer base, but being in a popular tourist area there’s no way of knowing if the winner is a local or a holiday-maker. All we can do is make sure as many people as possible hear about the win and check their tickets so that we find the winner, wherever they may be.

“We had a great run of big wins a couple years ago but then it went quiet for a while, so we are really exited to be back selling big prizes,” Mr McMaster said.

Hurstville

Hurstville’s mystery $444,444 winner purchased their winning Saturday Lotto entry from Viva Newsagency at Shops 120-122, Westfield Shoppingtown, Hurstville.

“Considering the winner is not a member of Players Club we will be encouraging everyone we see to bring their Saturday Lotto tickets in for checking. I hope we find our mystery winner soon. I bet they will be delighted when they find out they’ve won Lotto,” Damian Susantio from Viva Newsagency said.

Along with the two NSW winning entries, one winning entry was sold each in Western Australia, Queensland and South Australia and four winning entries were sold by the Victorian based lottery operator Tattersall’s.

The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $4 million Lotto draw were 25, 8, 27, 23, 42 and 11, with the supplementary numbers 20 and 33.

Is this Sydney’s luckiest Lotto winner? Winner scores five division one wins on one ticket

Listed - 04/02/2010 10:40am

A single entry purchased in Sydney’s inner western suburb of Ashfield scored five of eight shares in last night’s $1 million Wednesday Lotto draw.

Each winning share is worth $125,000, with Ashfield’s lucky winner scoring a total of more than $643,000 in division one and other divisional prizes.

“There have been occasions where people have had multiple wins on one ticket, as far as we can determine this could be the first time we have seen five division one wins on a single ticket,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager John Vineburg said.

“It is certainly a very unusual occurrence and I look forward to hearing the winner’s reaction to their amazing good luck,” Mr Vineburg added.

The winning entry - purchased from Westend Newsagency at 279 Liverpool Road, Ashfield – belongs to a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials, who are keen to speak to Ashfield’s multiple Lotto winner, have been unable to contact the winner by phone.

Proprietor of Westend Newsagency, Ly Ung, is busy telling his customers that one of them could be Lotto’s luckiest winner.

“We’ve sold lots of division one wins before, but to sell five in one draw is amazing, it must be some sort of record,” Mr Ung said.

“Everyone is really surprised to hear the news and plenty of people are checking their tickets with great enthusiasm,” Mr Ung added.

Two more $125,000 shares were sold in the Sydney Suburbs of Beecroft and Eastwood. As the owners of both winning tickets are not members of Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of attempting to contact them with the good news.

Beecroft’s winning entry was sold from Beecroft Newsagency at 14 Hannah Street, Beecroft.

The $125,000 winning ticket sold in Eastwood was purchased from ZMZ Eastwood Newsagency at 21 Railway Parade, Eastwood.

Along with Sydney’s seven winners another $125,000 division one winning entry was sold in South Australia.

The winning numbers from Wednesday night’s $1 million Lotto draw were 23, 5, 21, 42, 36 and 7, with the supplementary numbers 29 and 11.

02/02/2010 09:25am

Monday Lotto’s $2 million division one prize was won by a single winning entry purchased in Sydney’s inner western suburb of Marrickville.

As the winner is not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the lucky person to inform them of the good news. They may be completely unaware that they are now a multi-millionaire thanks to Lotto.

“At this stage the winning ticket has not been presented for verification, so all we can do is advise Lotto players in the Marrickville area to check their tickets very carefully as there will be a nice surprise is in store for the holder of the winning ticket,” NSW Lotteries Communications Manager, John Vineburg said.

“When the winner does come forward there will be a $2 million tax-free prize waiting for them,” Mr Vineburg added.

The winning entry was purchased from Cranes Newsagency at 290 Marrickville Road, Marrickville.

Lotto makes two new millionaires in NSW, players in Griffith and Rosebery win $1.3 million each

Listed - 12/01/2010 11:20am

Last night’s $4 million Monday Lotto jackpot was shared by three winners, two of last night’s winners purchased their tickets in NSW.

Winners from the South-west town of Griffith and the Sydney suburb of Rosebery scored $1,339,740.46 each.

Griffith

”You are joking me,” was the first response from the winning Griffith couple when a NSW Lotteries official broke news of their new millionaire status.

“We have been hoping for something like this to happen for a very long time.

“We’ll pay off the house first, this is going to make life so much easier,” the winners added.

Peter Searl, from Searls Newsagency at 412 Banna Avenue Griffith, said that he was happy to sell another big Lotto prize.

“We didn’t have any big wins for quite some time and then two division one Lotto wins in less than three weeks; it looks like our luck has turned around.

“We’re going for the hat-trick, so we’ll tell everyone to come and get their tickets here while we’re running hot,” Mr Searl said this morning.

An anonymous Griffith winner scored $1 million in Wednesday Lotto on 23 December with a ticket purchased from Searls Newsagency.

Rosebery

The Rosebery winner, who has asked to remain anonymous, is a member of NSW Lotteries Players Club so they received a call directly from NSW Lotteries to break news of their win.

The ticket which scored its lucky owner more than $1.3 million was purchased from Rosebery Newsagency at 351 Gardeners Road, Rosebery.

“Over the years we have sold quite a few wins, so we are delighted to have another one under our belt,” Michael Negus from Rosebery Newsagency said this morning.
“We have a very loyal customer base, I’m delighted that one of them is now a millionaire,” Mr Negus added.

NSW Lotteries were able to contact Monday Lotto’s winners as they are members of Players Club. For just a small annual fee, Players Club members can protect their prizes and ensure that they can be contacted in the event of a major win.

Along with the two NSW winning tickets in last night’s Monday Lotto draw a winning entry was also sold in South Australia.

The winning numbers in last night’s $4 million Monday Lotto draw were 7, 20, 2, 21, 23, and 5 with the supplementary numbers 32 and 14.

Cabramatta syndicate scoops share in Saturday Lotto $4 million prize

Listed - 11/01/2010 10:30am

Saturday Lotto’s $4 million division one prize was shared among seven winning entries nationally, including one winning entry in NSW.

Each winning ticket scored its owner $571,428.58. The NSW win belongs to a 15 share syndicate, sold in the Sydney Suburb of Cabramatta, each syndicate member scored a $38,095.25 share of the loot.

Mitchum Newsagency at 64B John Street, Cabramatta sold nine of the winning syndicate shares and Mitchum News at Shop 12, Cabramatta Arcade, 105-107 John Street, Cabramatta sold six of the winning syndicate shares.

Anne Huang, proprietor of Mitchum Newsagency and Mitchum News said that there are lots of happy customers coming in to check their tickets today.

“We are really excited, this is the third division one prize we have sold in 20 months.

“When we have sold big prizes in the past, some people have said that lightening doesn’t strike in the same place twice, so they didn’t expect us to sell any more big wins. I think we have blown that theory right out of the water and I’m sure we will have many more lightening strikes,” Ms Huang laughed.

“A few of the winning syndicate members have already been given the good news when they presented their winning entries for checking yesterday and today. There are still a few who haven’t checked yet, so we expect to be busy delivering good news over the next few days,” Ms Huang added.

Network syndicates allow players to share the cost of a large systems entry without having to form their own syndicate. Entries are sold separately.

Along with the NSW syndicate entry, three winning entries were sold in Queensland, two by the Victorian based lottery operator Tattersall’s and one winning entry was sold in South Australia.

The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $4 million Lotto draw were 45, 8, 6, 36, 18 and 20, with the supplementary numbers 39 and 29.

Eight NSW Lotto winners score $1.6 million each - among 18 winners sharing $30 million nationally

Listed - 03/01/2010 11:20am

NSW Lotto players kicked off the New Year by scoring eight of the 18 first division prizes won nationally in last night’s $30 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The NSW winning entries, each worth more than $1.6 million, were sold in the Sydney suburbs of Chatswood, Darling Harbour, Dulwich Hill, Fairfield West, Manly and Mulgoa, at Redhead in Newcastle, and as a 20-share online syndicate.

Chatswood

Johno Soegimin, owner of Supanews Chatswood at Chatswood Chase, where the winning $1.6 million Lotto ticket was sold, is convinced that their good luck is down to their new premises.

“We moved to new premises a few months back and it has been so lucky for us. Selling a $1.6 million win in the $30 million Lotto draw is a great start to the New Year for us and of course for the lucky winner,” Mr Soegimin said.

The winning ticket is not registered with NSW Lotteries Players Club, so Lotto players in the area are advised to check their own tickets very carefully to see if they are a millionaire.

Darling Harbour

Although the owner of the winning ticket sold at Darling Harbour is not a Players Club member, Cemile Tehniklioglu from World News Centre, is determined to find the winner and give them the good news.

“Being situated in Darling Harbour we get a lot of interstate and international tourists coming in to buy a ticket while they are in town, so there is just no telling who it could be. We will put up signs and tell everyone that we see to check their tickets, we want to find our lucky winner and give them the best news of their life – that they have won Lotto,” Ms Tehniklioglu said.

Dulwich Hill

A $1.6 million winning Lotto entry, sold at Dulwich Hill Newsagency at 404 New Canterbury Road, Dulwich Hill, is not registered to a NSW Lotteries Players Club member and so NSW Lotteries do not have any contact information for the winner.

“As soon as word gets out that the ticket is not registered with Players Club and it was sold from this shop there will be queues of people wanting to check their tickets,” Mr Minh Nguyen from Dulwich Hill Newsagency said this morning.

Fairfield West

As Fairfield West’s latest Lotto millionaire is not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the lucky winner with the good news.

All Saturday Lotto players in the area are advised to check their tickets very carefully as it could be worth more than $1.6 million.

The winning entry was purchased from Fairvale Newsagency at Shop 3, 338 Hamilton Road, Fairfield West.

Manly

A day trip to Manly scored a Greystanes man a $1.6 million winning Lotto ticket.

The 69-year-old man was taking visiting friends to Manly for the day when he purchased the winning ticket from Humphrey’s Newsagency at 60 The Corso, Manly.

“My stomach is jumping, I’m full of nerves, I can’t believe this,” the man told the NSW Lotteries official who broke news of his windfall this morning.

“I checked my Powerball ticket when I was in Manly and won $24, so I used the money to buy this ticket. I can’t believe I’ve become a millionaire just before my seventieth birthday later this month.

“We’ve battled financially all our lives, the first thing I’m going to do is buy a new car. I’ll let the news sink in before I think about what else to do,” the winner added.

Chris Humphrey from Humphrey’s Newsagency said it was “fantastic news”.

“We love to hear that someone who bought their ticket from our shop has had a big win. It’s always great to sell a big one and even better to get one this early in the year,” Mr Humphrey added.

Mulgoa

Although the winner who purchased their winning entry in the Western Sydney suburb of Mulgoa is a NSW Lotteries Players Club member, the winner was not contactable by telephone this morning. A letter will be mailed to the winner to inform them of their new millionaire status.

The winning entry was purchased from Mulgoa Newsagency at Shop 10 Mulgoa Shopping Centre, Mulgoa.

“This is the biggest prize we have ever sold, so it is a very happy New Year for us and the winner. I hope that there are more big wins on the way for my customers,” Mr Sung Hoon Kim, owner of Mulgoa Newsagency said this morning.

Redhead

A 83-year-old Redhead woman was close to tears this morning when a NSW Lotteries official told her that she is now more than $1.6 million better off after picking up a share in Saturday Lotto’s $30 million prize pool.

“I’ve never won anything before and I never expected this. I never thought I would ever be a millionaire, it’s my husband who always said he’d win the Lotto one day,” the Redhead pensioner said.

“I only buy Lotto so that I could help my children if I won, I can’t wait to tell them this news. I’ve never had much and the pension doesn’t go very far, so I can’t tell you how much this will help us,” the winner added.

She purchased her winning Saturday Lotto entry from Redhead Newsagency at 117 Cowlishaw Street, Redhead.

Network Syndicate

Another Saturday Lotto first division win of $1.6 million was shared by a network syndicate of 20 members, with each member picking up $86,000 in total divisional prize money.

The winning syndicate shares were purchased from NSW Lotteries agencies at: Bankstown, Bondi Beach, Dubbo, Eastlakes, Hurstville, Lane Cove, Mascot, Macquarie Fields, McMahons Point, Mona Vale (two shares) Mount Pritchard, North Strathfield, Salamander Bay, St Marys, South Penrith, Wentworthville, Wanniassa and Woden (in the ACT), and Yagoona West.

Network syndicates allow players to share the cost of a large systems entry without having to form their own syndicate. Entries are sold separately at different agencies across the 1,600 in the NSW Lotteries retail network.

The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $30 million Lotto Superdraw were 12, 5, 42, 16, 34 and 33, with the supplementary numbers 32 and 30.
